Bikes on Bloor (BOB)
Bikes on Bloor (BOB), was formed out of the Canadian Urban Transit Association's 3rd Youth Summit on Sustainable Urban Transportation, held in Montreal in the summer of 2006. Founded by a group of hardworking students and youth in the Toronto area with backgrounds in Urban Planning and Environmental Studies, we enjoy commuting by bicycle and hope to work towards the improvement of the downtown Toronto bike-lane network.
Our current project purpose is "to research and investigate the perceived and actual barriers to the possibility of a bicycle lane on Bloor Street." Our hope is to work with cycling advocacy groups, and conduct primary research to fill in the gaps. We have already undertaken a cyclist count along different points of Bloor Street, and we are planning on conducting a cyclist survey, as well as a major survey for businesses making up the different neighbourhoods of Bloor Street.
