Ward 21 Cyclists Meeting

Event date:
26 November, 2008 - 14:00 - 16:00

On November 26, 2008, the Ward 21 chapter of the Toronto Cyclists Union will be holding a meeting at The Barns to help set cycling priorities for Ward 21 for the coming year and for the following three years. The chapter is committed to engagaging in ongoing community dialogue and promoting initiatives for safe cycling. All cycling enthusiasts are welcome - you don't have to be a Union member. We want to hear from you on the issues and concerns that matter most to you.  Please tell your friends, neighbours and colleagues.

Ward 21 has many bike-friendly streets, and is now benefiting from a new bike lane on Vaughan Road. But we can do more and push the boundaries in Ward 21, making St. Paul's West an example for the whole City. Ward 21's councillor, Joe Mihevc, is open to many forms of biking infrastructure options, even pilot programs for innovative and creative ideas.

The meeting will be facilitated by Lilita Tannis, an experienced local facilitator.  Joe Mihevc will be in attendance as will Dave Dunn of the City's Pedestrian and Cycling Infrastructure Unit of Transportation to address your comments and questions.

The chapter also is seeking more volunteers to participate and help organize the chapter. If you are a biking enthusiast, with a passion for advocacy, the chapter would welcome your contribution.

Please plan to attend this important meeting.

Date:  Wednesday, November 26, 2008 from 7pm - 9pm

Location:  Artscape Whychwood Barns, public gallery

Public Gallery:  East end of Barn number 1 (north barn), public art gallery space (enter from Whychwood Avenue, 2 blocks south of St. Clair)

The Barns are located in between Christie and Whychwood to the east, south of St. Clair.
