Why Join

Join a Vibrant, Inclusive and Influential Cycling Community

Become a Member of the Toronto Cyclists Union

Your Membership makes a difference for cycling in Toronto. There's strength in numbers, and by joining the Toronto Cyclists Union, you make a statement that you believe in Toronto's fastest growing transportation option.

The Toronto Cyclists Union is almost entirely funded through membership revenue - we couldn't do this without you, our fellow cyclists.

The bike union means:

  • Paid staff working for you on issues that matter to you.
  • Assurance that cyclists are heard in the media, City Hall, Queen's Park and Parliament Hill.
  • A growing list of member benefits, including discounts, magazine subscriptions and more.
  • A lasting legacy for future generations of cyclists.
  • Staying in the know on cycling issues that affect you.
  • 2008 saw the most kilometres of new bike lanes ever put on the road in one year in Toronto. For the first time ever, the bikeway network portion of the Toronto Bike Plan was fully funded within the 5-year Capital Plan. Your support ensures that cycling continues to move in this positive direction.
  • Adding your voice to the growing number of cyclists in Toronto who are supporting a fun, healthy, and environmentally sound way of getting around the city.
  • Members make the bike union, and as such we make a commitment to our members. Read more about how we keep in touch with you.

"I really like the fact that cyclists now have a united voice to stimulate the changes we need. It’s great to have a strong promoter of bicycling in the city.”

Navid Taslimi, Toronto Cyclists Union Member

"I'm in awe of what the big membership based groups in New York, Chicago and San Franscisco have done for cycling. The time has come for Toronto to have a powerful group that can influence positive change for cyclists. When I heard about the bike union, I knew I had to join"

Heather McDonald, Toronto Cyclists Union Member

"Too often cyclists concerns are overlooked or compromised. I'm excited that Toronto now has a united front to make cycling a truly integral part of our transportation network"

Matt Blackett, Toronto Cyclists Union Member
