Jarvis St. - Need to know info!

Submitted by yvonne on 20 July, 2010 - 23:00

There has been mixed information about the current changes happening on Jarvis St. between Queen St. and Charles St.

Jarvis is being re-striped, the middle reversible lane removed, and bike lanes will soon be added at the curb on both sides.

Several media outlets have unfortunately been reporting that the new bike lanes are already in place and have been telling cyclists to ride down the centre of the roadway.  This information is incorrect.

Please visit the City's website for the full redesign schedule and details - http://www.toronto.ca/cycling/network/jarvis-reconstruction.htm

Here are some photos of Jarvis St. on July 21_10,

is indeed a confusing mix of lines & lanes...

Cheers,
Yvonne & the bike union team.
P.S.  Got my first tickets today while taking photos for this post :(
