Pollution Probe

Pollution Probe (www.pollutionprobe.org) is a Canadian environmental organization that defines environmental problems through research; promotes understanding through education; and, presses for practical solutions through advocacy. Currently we have major programmes in the areas of Air, Water, Energy and Indoor Environments. In Spring 2003 Pollution Probe worked with BUG Network staff to organize a BUG for the office building at 625 Church Street.

Toronto City Hall

The goals of this commuter cycling BUG include: sharing information of interest with City Hall cyclists, and identifying common concerns and finding ways to address them. Members keep in touch over an email discussion list. Cyclists at City Hall have access to underground bicycle parking and shower facilities. For more information contact dtomlin@toronto.ca.

Government of Ontario

This provincial government BUG has a number of interests, including: letting people in the building know that underground bicycle parking is available by posting notices, getting showers and/or change rooms, creating a BUG intranet site, and expanding BUG membership. The BUG recently hosted a cold weather cycling seminar. For more information email alan.kary@jus.gov.on.ca and visit www.gov.on.ca.

777 Bay Street BUG

The 777 Bay Street BUG formed in the summer of 2004. The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MAH) is located in this building, along with other public and private sector tenants. Cyclists at this location have some outdoor parking, and BUG members are working with management to both increase capacity and to provide secure long-term parking options for MAH employees and their tenants. Members keep in touch through the MAH intranet. For more information please e-mail bicycleusergroup@mah.gov.on.ca and visit www.mah.gov.on.ca.
