Watch Toronto Bikes!

Cycling in Toronto is as diverse as the city itself. From mountain biking to distance road cycling, commuter cyclists knit the story together. We need to invest in more bike lanes and cycling infrastructure to increase safety and encourage more people to take to the streets more often. Click here to watch the video!

Drivers for Jarvis

Cyclists aren't the only people who care about the Jarvis Street bike lanes. Drivers care too. In July 2011, City Council voted to remove the Jarvis bike lanes and reinstall the reversible fifth lane. Since then, we have been working to Save Jarvis, from organizing a protest ride, to revealing the true cost of removal. Now, we created Drivers for Jarvis to allow Torontonians who drive to show their support for the Jarvis Street bike lanes. Be Bike Savvy

Can Toronto afford bike lanes? How do bike lanes impact businesses? Shouldn't cyclists be licensed?

Explore the big issues surrounding cycling in Toronto in our new Be Bike Savvy section. We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions to dispel some of the misinformation around cycling. Read up on all the issues and be ready to win skeptics over at the water cooler or your next cocktail party!

Easy Riding on Richmond/Adelaide

In 2010, Toronto had the most car-bike collisions of any major Canadian city. This is unacceptable, which is why we are pushing the City of Toronto to catch up to other major cities by installing protected bike lanes to increase the safety of cyclists. Protected bike lanes on Richmond/Adelaide Streets were proposed in the bike plan ten years ago. We want to make this a reality today.  Check our resource page to learn more!

We Want More BIXI!

Do you want more BIXI?

BIXI is Toronto's popular public bike system. Unfortunately, the system only covers a very small area in the downtown core. We want to change this. Given the high level of ridership and demand at the edges of the service area, the Toronto Cyclists Union wants to see an expanded BIXI program of 3,000 bicycles serving more Torontonians across a larger service area. Vote for your favourite location for a new station! and Sign our petition if you support a BIXI Toronto Expansion!

This year, the Toronto Cyclists Union is proudly partnering with the City of Toronto to run Bike Month. Learn more about Bike Month 2012 events and activities.

The Toronto Cyclists Union provides a strong, unified voice for Toronto cyclists.

We are a membership-based organization advocating for the rights of cyclists of all ages and from all parts of Toronto. Cyclists like you: Join us to help strengthen our collective voice.
